FINDING PURPOSE

If I were to tell you that you have great purpose, would you agree or would you be surprised?

For some, you may agree but for others this may be somewhat of a surprise to you. Maybe you have never been told that you have a great purpose on your life. Often times, we tend to find ourselves not living out our purpose in life because we get lost in the busyness of it all or either because we have never been told that we have purpose.

One of the most common questions we find ourselves asking is, “what is the purpose of it all?”. Then we may ask, “how do I find my purpose?”. Well friends, I want you to know that our purpose is found in Jesus Christ.

Without Jesus, you and I are not capable of fully living out our purpose. Maybe you are wondering why we need Jesus to live out our purpose and that is a fantastic question.

Each and every one of us (no one is excluded) are born into sin. From the moment we enter into this world, we are sinful and because of that sin we are separated from God. [Romans 3:10]

Now here is something else that you may not have known or heard before: In spite of that sin, God loves you and wants a relationship with you. As difficult as this may be to believe, God truly wants a relationship with each and every one of us. Sometimes we doubt this because we believe that we are not “good enough” and that we don’t live up to the standards that are required to have a relationship with God. To be honest that is partially true. You and I are not “good enough” to earn a relationship with God. On our own, we will never be able to remove the sin that separates us from Him. This is where Jesus comes to save the day! [Timothy 2:3-4]

Jesus came to this earth in order to live the perfect life that you and I could not. Then, He died the death (punishment for our sins) that we deserved. However, He did not just stop there. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave defeating sin and death, so that whoever places their faith in Him can have life (both abundant and eternal)! [Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; John 10:10; 2 Timothy 1:9; Romans 6:23]

It is when we put our faith in Jesus, that we can now have a relationship with God. We are no longer separated by sin but rather we are reconciled with Him. [2 Corinthians 5:11-21]

Part of our purpose is to truly know Jesus as our Lord and Savior–for us to begin to learn and understand who He is and what He has done for us. It’s then that our purpose continues so that we can share with others who He is! [Matthew 28:19]

It is not only about us knowing Jesus and that being the end, but it is also about us telling others who He is!

Let today be the day that you recognize and take hold of your purpose! If you would like to talk about who Jesus is or His calling for your life, we would love to talk with you! You can email us at resources@hoperisingministries.cc.
